Considering the pedigree of the owner and the awards won for it, you'll want to do deep dish pizza at Pizano's Pizza Pasta. How can you resist. It is an investment of time though - about 30 mins. If you are in a hurry, they do have excellent thin crust offerings, in fact at one point they were voted #1 for their thins. I think the only thing you want to eat here is the pizza. Don't bother with their appetizers salad garlic bread or anything else. Just the pizza. Their deep dish isn't as deep as others and also has a nifty buttery crust. Since 1991. Owner is Rudy Malnati Jr. son of Rudy Malnati Sr., who was the chef at Pizzeria Uno at the beginning in 1943 and is now credited with developing deep dish pizza there. The owner of Uno's was Ike Sewell who was initially said to be the inventor. Rudy Sr. is also father to Lou Malnati who has a large Chicago deep dish chain. Pizza runs deep in the Malnati family.
