Right along the scenic Chicago river is Lawrence's, a huge seafood emporium open 24 hours a day. Don't know what it would be like to eat fried shrimp at 5am, but it'll be there waiting if you want to do a run. The cashier is as mean as a Chicago Southside junkyard dog and probably still works there because management is afraid to talk to her. Danny thinks her cousins work the registers at the Ontario Street Portillios and at Wiener Circle. If you're not easily offended by this born under a bad moon creature, ignore her and move a long, you will get a styrofoam tray of some pretty darn good fried seafood for a reasonable price. Skip the dinner and just get the seafood. Fried Shrimp is noteworthy. Since 1950 for a reason. It's the food not the vibes.
